Jo Eubanks

Hi, my name is Jo. I’m a New York City - trained actor, singer, and songwriter currently living in Los Angeles. If you’re stopping by from the music industry, you might know me as Coyote Eyes or the lead singer of WTCH. Oh, one last thing: I’m an aerialist too.

ME

Let’s get back to basics: I’m a southern spitfire of a gal with a whole lotta ambition. I landed my first professional gig at 16 years old after I snuck out to audition for a theater company several hours from my home town. Later, I earned a B.A. in Dramatic Arts. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and then went on to train with the Atlantic Theater Company Conservatory both in New York and Los Angeles. I’ve been fortunate enough to train with some of the greats: David Mamet, Clark Gregg, Scott Ziegler, Olympia Dukakis, Christopher Bayes, Jim Calder, Andre Holland, and so many more.

ACTING

Before moving to LA, I did a 5-year run with an immersive theater company formerly and famously produced by Neil Patrick Harris. Have you ever seen the movie The Game with Michael Douglas? Imagine if that was a live theatrical experience that turned your world upside down, but also made you laugh hysterically in the process. That’s what I did, full time. I was originally cast as the lead role of the Mob Boss’ idiot girlfriend, but when I heard the company was also reading actors for the role of a homeless blind man, I asked if I could give it a whirl - and the rest is history. I value skill, craft, and resilience, and I’m here to create work that matters.

MUSIC

I’ve also been an active member of the music industry since I was a wee lass. I started training as an opera singer at age 11 (I know…), but spent most of my time studying my musical idols like Bonnie Raitt, Alanis Morisette, Sarah McLaughlin, and The Cranberries.

I started getting scouted by labels at 16 because rumor had it that I “had the pain of a 30 year old woman trapped inside a child’s body” (must be an only child thing). But because my family didn’t want me to turn into the next Whitney Houston or Kurt Cobain, I chose to live out my childhood, go to college, and keep honing my crafts.

After spending many years working an independent pop artist under my own name, I reemerged as Coyote Eyes, a project which allows me the freedom to explore all facets of my artistry, including marrying cinematic production with haunting vocal layers and dark poetry. If you want more, the Coyote Eyes site is linked above!

AERIAL

Some people became masters of netflix during COVID. Others learned to bake banana bread. I finally took on my life long dream of becoming an aerial acrobat. I’m currently training in aerial silks, hammock, and hoop. My goal is to be able to sing my own music while dancing in the sky. 🕊
